Urethane Chemistry

Polyurethanes are common reaction products of polyisocyanates and polyhydroxy compounds. Offering both linear diols and branched polyols based on polybutadiene oligomers, Cray Valley has a portfolio of polyhydroxy compounds ideally suited for performance urethane applications. Branched polyols from the Poly bd® product family are industrially suited for sealants, coatings and adhesive formulations requiring acid/base resistance, low MVTR and high affinity to diverse substrates. Similarly, linear diol products from the Krasol product class are suited to developing differentiated thermoplastics urethanes (TPUs) that take advantage of the inherent properties of polybutadiene.

Urethanes have many industrial applications, including sealants and adhesives, coatings and thermoplastics.
