Centrifugal casting equipment consists of a metal cylinder which lays on top of a series of roller bearings and can be rotated at variable speed.
This process is used to make pipes, poles and containers. Basically, a mixture of glass fibre and resin is dosed simultaneously into the rotating cylinder, and impregnated and de-aerated optimally due to centrifugal forces.
Mechanical properties are determined by the amount of glass fibre and by the rotating speed of the cylinder. Sand may also be added to the resin/glass fibre mixture.
